Humans of IYACA

We are starting new photo series "Humans of IYACA" in which we will present our volunteers and members of IYACA who will share some stories from their volunteering activities and Erasmus+ projects.
"One day I was in a restaurant in Bulgaria because I was doing my short-term EVS volunteering in this country. A few strange-looking men approached me with a deep grief on their faces. Suddenly they started making comments like “poor girl”, “do you have hair?”, “are you sick?”, “what kind of cancer do you have?” I was in deep shock. I have never heard similar reactions about my hijab... I have politely explained them why my hair was covered and assured that I was doing just fine.”

Şule – IYACA volunteer.
