Half of the way ! (Servet)

After three months of isolation, my project is in the half way and I am in my fourth month already. We were talking with my friend and she said “quarantine was long as a time period but it was like passed very fast because everyday was same of yesterday“. I think yes she was right actually, when I think about it now it seems it was passing so fast…

After that I talked with my mentor and we decided for me to join a summer camp in Roma center. I had very valuable time with kids in there, we organize with them various type of activities. I was feeling so good because I can see the happiness in their eyes 😊

Also month of June was so fast for me because I had many different activities after quarantine. Let me start from beginning 🙂 after Lithuania lifted the isolation I directly bought I ticked and went to visit my friend in Klaipeda District, it is in Lithuania and very cute city nearby Baltic sea. We had great time there with him, a lot of adventure. During our trip also we decided to have small
Europe trip once the situation get more normal :))

We went with our group to the zoo, animal shelter, fun fair and we organize hip-hop workshop with them. We create a rap song end of this activity ☺

End of the camp I needed to say goodbye because the organization was going to close for a summer break. İt was the hardest moment for me because we had already emotional connection with majority of them. I hope we could see each other again.

As always said; happiness is only real when it shared ….

Second Months in Lithuania

Hello people from Lithuania!!

Two months already pass, even during the Corona time is still so fast. I think I used to live in Lithuania day by day. İt’s maybe about creating a new comfort zone. The great thing I learn during the quarantine is to not complain about anything, because ı saw that yes it might be isolation but people still can create something and it’s possible to make time is useful. During this time I start to wrote Erasmus project and make the work effective remotely.

Besides, during this month I have visited many beautiful natural places in beautiful Vilnius. Spending time in the nature make the person more relax and happy for my opinion.

Lastly, situation in Lithuania getting normal day by day. Number of Covid-19 cases nowadays very low. (5-9) hopefully by starting summer life will be more enjoyable and normal here. Also ı read on the news that Latvia and Estonia borders will reopen in 15th March. Maybe I can go there and start again to explore new places…

Life is Short, Birds are Flying!!!

Sometimes everything starts based on a dream, real dream. I guess now the dream has come true, I am in Lithuania… A country very far away from Turkey and very different. Not just only the culture but also people, life style, weather and especially which is very important for me is the food !

Some people asked me here, “why did you choose Lithuania?“ Let me explain; because I wanted to be out of my comfort zone and force myself… Lithuania is a good place for that adventure I guess.

It’s already more than a month I have been living here. Compare to first days I am more integrated into the country and now it’s more easy for me to survive here of course with the support of friends. I am sure that you are hearing this a lot “time is so fast“ yes it is, that’s why exactly you have to try to be out of your safe place: comfort zone and do something for other, not always for you and for your family or people you know. I call it volunteering, it’s mean doing something for others without expecting something-about feeling, because you feel good. It’s “European Solidarity Corps“. Actually nowadays we need a lot of solidarity in order to save life’s in order to handle those difficult days … I am sure all those dark days will pass and everything will be alright, spring will come and the flowers will blooming.

So now it to continue when I start, I have start in Vilnius, some people don’t know where it is, it’s in Lithuania, it is a capital city of Lithuania. This city of day will be a place of many moments for me and all those moments will became a memory. A moment to remember. İt’s started already…

The day I arrive I put my stuff in the room and after ı start to discovering of beautiful Lithuania. Firs I was in Shopping trying to see differences between Turkey and Lithuania. Then I was in the natural areas, then it the center, then in historical places. My discovering process is still continue and I think it won’t finish soon…

In the second week I was in Trakai and Kaunas. These two different places was amazing. I have many useful information about Lithuanian culture and history.

Also before the quarantine I had a chance to organize a workshop with my coordinator and other volunteers. We was in Ozas shopping center, we shared our volunteer experiences with Lithuanian locals.

Now everything’s going smoothly well, most of the time we are at home and working remotely. Staying at home in those days is the best idea. Hope for better days always ahead and I think here the situation will be normal soon...

This is all for now, I hope next month I will have more stories to tell …
