Guess Who's Back With New Experiences

Hello! I am back!
I would like to share with all of you my few month’s experiences in Turkey during my Volunteering service!
So I attended three projects in Istanbul, Ankara and also I had on-arrival training, for sure it’s a bit too late for on-arrival training for me, but ‘’It’s better later, than never’’.
Starting from Istanbul project, it was not the first time for me in Istanbul, but still it was nice to visit that city! In that project I met a lot of incredible people with lot of experiences which ones they were open to share. All of them were from different countries, it’s so cool to meet people from different cultures and try their traditional meals, drinks. I should be thankful for all of the organizers of the project, because they made that activity called ‘’Cultural Night’’. Also I learned a lot of things about ESC, projects writings and more things, but I guess I don’t have to say all of them because I don’t think it’s interesting for you to read that so I will just talk about simple things without getting into official side. Very interesting thing was to stay far away from city center, somewhere in forest and finally to stay in ‘calm’ place, why ‘calm’? Because we were lot of participants and we had amazing evenings with music and more stuff, so actually it was calm only in day time. So if to be honest Istanbul project was the BEST!

Ankara project. It was very nice also, but you know its kind a boring when you have project in the same city like you staying and you can’t see anything new… But in all cases I again learned a lot of things just for sure different things from Istanbul project because topics was also different. Just problem was about Ankara project that some people was not so interested to the project topic just to night part. Also I got new experience by being photographer, so +1 new skill to me.

On-Arrival training. I won’t speak a lot about on-arrival training, because it was more official just to let volunteers understand their rights and more important things about being volunteer. As I said it was a bit too late for me because I already knew all these things, but if that would be for me in first months it would helped me a lot by understanding things, and getting new friends from all around turkey who’s also volunteers. But I highly recommend to attend that kind of project when you are volunteer, it would help you a lot!

And right now I just want to share some things from my living side in here, not about projects.
So to be honest these few months it’s just amazing for me here, I got lot of new friends, we stared traveling, spending lot of time together, going to party’s and more things. I would like to recommend for you, if you volunteer or planning to be volunteer try to socialize as much as you can, that thing will help you to adapt to new country, culture, religion and etc…
I know I am not writing so much blogs, because for me it’s really hard to talk about myself, but I will try my best to write for you some more blogs before my volunteering will be finished…

I hope you enjoyed that, and have a great day!

Unforgettable experience

Hello!
I’m writing this blog a bit too late, but still I want to tell you about my experience in August. So I were participating in LOCALinternational project for 10 days. It was amazing experience and I never thought that can be so amazing to travel with different culture, religion people and even then when you see them for first time in your life. We started in Ankara. As you know I’m already in Ankara for 4 Months, I thought that I have seen lot of places in this city and I tried so many traditional food, but that were not true. Big Thanks for this project because I saw so many amazing places where you can spend your free time, where you can taste different type of food, in this city where I will have to be for 7 Months more, also I learned so many things about Turkey and another countries. Next city were Kahramanmaraş. We traveled to this city by bus, so it was so long trip. It was my first time to be in this side of Turkey. And what can I only say, this city have incredible nice view, with amazing mountains all around the city, so actually when you are in Kahramanmaraş you can feel that you staying in big hole of mountains and its amazing feeling for people who love nature. Next city were Gaziantep. So in this side of Turkey, if you love food you MUST come here and taste all things what they have, also Gaziantep as you know is very popular because of the ice cream. Maybe you have seen in social media when ice cream workers playing with people who want to buy ice cream and yes I saw it by my eyes, you can’t imagine how funny was that. And our last stop were Istanbul. In this city I have been before, but I didn’t had a time to visit historical places, and this time we visited so many museums, churchs, mosques and it was amazing. And you know its kind a hard to describe feeling by words when you being in historical places which ones were builded more then 500 years ago, and you can touch that history by your hands, which one were so important to build these days buildings. In this project I met amazing people, with some of them we get in really good friendship. And because of all this experience I have to say again big THANK YOU for people who were organized this Project.
I’m not good writer, and it’s very hard for me to write blogs, but still I made it. Maybe I didn’t wrote lot of things, but sometimes to describe feelings by words it’s not possible. I hope you liked it. See you next time J

Titas, our new EVS volunteer

Hello Everyone!
I'm Titas, 18 years old. I'm a new EVS volunteer at IYACA. I was born in Lithuania/ Alytus, I lived in Lithuania for 16 years, and then for 2 years I live in Germany. In Lithuania, I graduated from a music school playing guitar being my department.
I'm really interested in Sport, Music, and Travel. I also like to communicate with people who are from another country, because I think that when you speak with different people you are getting new experience and start understanding their traditions. I am really interested to find young people activities, because I think these day's young people are sitting at home too much, playing video games and they're losing their connections with other human being, so my goal is to take youngsters out from home and make them happy being outside and communicating with people.
