AGH Ara Dönem Eğitimi ve Vladimir Gezisi

Uzun dönem AGH yapan gönüllülerin katılması gereken eğitimlerden biri olan ara-dönem eğitimimiz Rusya'nın Vladimir şehrinde gerçekleştirildi. 

Rus tarihinde önemli rol oynayan eski Rus şehirleri 12-17. yüzyıllara ait benzersiz Rus mimarisinin ve tarihinin eserleri ile dolu bir çember şeklinde sıralandıklarından dolayı bu şehirlere Altın Halka denmektedir. Gerçek Rus tarihini görmek isteyenlerin mutlaka ziyaret etmesi gerektiği söylenen bu şehirlerden ikisini bu eğitim sayesinde ziyaret etme fırsatı bulduğum için kendimi çok şanslı hissediyorum. 

EVS Mid-term Training in Izmir

As a couple of months ago we had on arrival training, on March it was the turn of mid term training which took place in the warm Izmir. It was a pleasure to see again all the EVS volunteers I met in Istanbul and update each other about our projects and future plans.

The mid term training is a bit shorter than on arrival one and basically cover topics such as how to evaluate your EVS experience, fill the youthpass, communication empathy and since you are closer to the end of EVS it also includes a personal action plan.

Bulgaristan'da İlk Günlerim

Buraya gelmem uzun zaman aldı ama geldiğime de değdi açıkçası. Avrupa Gönüllü Hizmeti gönüllüsü olarak Bulgaristan'ın Burgas şehrinde kalıyorum. Burası çok farklı ama güzel. Otobüsten ilk indiğimde buraya nasıl alışacağımı düşünüyordum fakat bir süre sonra açıkçası zor olmadığını söyleyebilirim.

Bulgar halkı oldukça cana yakın, hatta halkın bir kısmı burada Türkçe konuşuyor. Tabi bize de oldukça yardımcı oluyorlar. Kaldığım şehir deniz kenarında. Buranın sahili gerçekten çok güzel ve yanında da büyük bir parkı. Bazı zamanlar gidip denizi izlemek bana Hatay'ı, memleketimi hatırlatıyor. Şimdiden ailemi ve arkadaşlarımı çok özlediğimi hissediyorum.

How I survived 6 months in Kayseri

Yes, finally I can say I did it! I almost stayed 6 months in Kayseri, which I think is a record for any young European. Seriously, almost everyone that you come across in Kayseri is complaining about the city: they said there is nothing to do, people are too conservative, life here is very boring. This is in part true, but a city is made by the society who lives in that place, it’s not only about buildings. You, people living in Kayseri, you are that ones that can make the difference and I know there are lots of youths who are doing something to improve the life here.

It's been almost four months... Time passed so fast! Luckily, we got good memories to remember, nice photos to make those moments immortal... On this article, I would like to share some of my precious moments which I got during my EVS programme in Wroclaw.

Soğanlı Valley, the less touristic area of Cappadocia

Cappadocia is the most well-known attraction in Turkey; although its beauty leaves without words, sometimes when visiting Göreme and the many pottery shops, you really feel like a tourist. I don’t like to be a tourist in general, it’s just a ready-made package for everybody and there is anymore the pleasure to discover a place by yourself.

BELLO BRINDISI

Hakkında en ufak bir fikrim olmadan geldiğim İtalya’nın Brindisi şehrindeki EVS deneyimimin ilk ayını tamamlamış bulunmaktayım. Buraya gelmeden önce bu şehirle alakalı araştırmalar yapmış, hatta birkaç İtalyan arkadaşıma bile burayı sormuş olmama rağmen sanırım o kadar da popüler bir şehir olmamasından dolayı çok fazla bilgi edinemeyişim beni endişelendirmişti. Fakat buraya geldikten sonra bir İzmir’li olarak gerek buradaki insanların yaşam tarzı gerek de şehrin havası bana hiç yabancılık çektirmedi, aksine evimde gibi hissettirdi desem yalan olmaz :)İlk ayımda buradaki en büyük sıkıntım benden başka erkek gönüllü bulunmadığı için kaldığım dairede yalnız olmamdı. Neyse ki bu sorun da çok uzun sürmeden kardeş ülke Azerbaycan’dan gelen gönüllü arkadaşımızın katılımıyla çözüldü. :)

On Arrival Training in İstanbul

As part of the duties (but also pleasures) of an EVS volunteer there are some training courses, in particular the pre-departure, the on-arrival and the mid-term trainings. At the end of January 2016, I had the possibility to take part to the on-arrival one which took place in the biggest city of Turkey, of course it’s Istanbul. Basically, all the volunteers who are doing a long term EVS in the country were invited by mail to join the training; I was surprised to get to know we are about 45 volunteers. I was very excited at the idea to meet others EVS volunteers living in Turkey and I was looking forward to having an interesting exchange of experiences.

EVS'e Kısacık Bir Ara, PORTEKİZ

Eylül’ün 27'sinden beri istediğim tek şey 20 Aralık'ın gelmesiydi. Ve o gün geldi. I’m going to Turkey gençler :) Portekiz’e geleli 3 ay olmuştu. Ailemi, arkadaşlarımı, İzmir Kordon'daki o muhteşem deniz kokusunu ilk defa bu kadar çok özlediğimi hissettim. Az önce Eylül’ün 27'si dedim. Bunun sebebi ise uçak biletlerimizi o gün almış olmamızdı. Biletler alındıktan sonra daha bir heyecan bastı beni. Off nasıl geçer bu zaman diye düşünüp dururken hooop 20 Aralık oldu bile.

The “WROCLAW”

Time passes so fast, it’s already been two months here. Honestly, it is hard to write below each memories and the facts I had but summarize will be better. I met with good friends and was witness of Polish hospitality, kindness and happiness. Thus, I did not have any problem, luckily :)

Wroclaw is the city which fulfilled with historical churches, catedrals and amazing buildings. I really fall in love with that. City has own beauty, characteristic. That makes me think to stay forever. For the ones, who have the possibility to come here with EVS or Erasmus+ I advice you to participate those programmes in winter season. It might be quite cold (such as east part of Turkey) but really worth that.
